Now NSF certified - the testo 270 cooking oil tester

The testo 270 cooking oil tester has been successfully tested and certified by NSF International. This ensures that the measuring instrument made by the measuring technology specialist, Testo, fulfils the stringent requirements of the independent NSF experts in terms of safety and quality.

The testo 270 cooking oil tester determines the quality of cooking oil both efficiently and precisely. This ensures the quality of deep-fried foods and reduces expenditure for cooking oil by up to 20%.

NSF International certified the measuring instrument, which means it meets all NSF/ANSI standard 2 requirements. In the context of the certification, it was established that both the measuring instrument and the materials used are regularly checked. In addition, there is an annual audit of testo 270 production.

Ensure quality and lower costs

The testo 270 measures the proportion of total polar materials (TPM) in the cooking oil. This is a reliable indicator of its quality. The polar materials may therefore not exceed a certain limit, depending on the country. Cooking oil develops its best potential between 14 and 20% TPM. If the oil is too old, it shows an increased TPM value, and deep-fried goods of inferior quality are produced. Furthermore, it may then contain substances which present a risk to health. Regular measurement with the testo 270 prevents this. Use of the measuring instrument also prevents the wastage of cooking oil as a result of replacing it too early. It reduces cooking oil consumption by up to a fifth.

Safety in daily use

The proven measuring instrument also meets protection class IP65 without any additional protective case. It can be cleaned under running water without any problem and is therefore ideally suited for use in the restaurant chain sector. Its ergonomic design means users are no longer directly exposed to the heat from the deep-fryer when taking the measurement and can therefore work more safely.

Even more intuitive thanks to traffic light system

The unmistakeable alarm provided by the multi-colour background illumination of the large colour display makes it easy to evaluate the quality of the cooking oil: green means that the TPM content is in the range below the set limit value, with orange it is close to it, and when the display lights up red, the limit value has been exceeded.

Significantly reduce costs

Extensive practical tests by Testo engineers have demonstrated that regular measurement with the testo 270 reduces the consumption of cooking oil by up to 20%. With a consumption of 1 000 litres per month and assuming a price of R16 per litre, this enables an annual saving of R38 400.
