The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development has revoked the appointment of Impumelelo Agribusiness Solutions (Pty) Ltd and Nejahmogul Technologies & Services (Pty) Ltd as assignees under the Agricultural Product Standards Act.
According to Government Notice No. 2490 of 16 September 2022, The Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development has revoked the appointment of Impumelelo Agribusiness Solutions (Pty) Ltd and Nejahmogul Technologies & Services (Pty) Ltd as assignees under the Agricultural Product Standards Act ( Act No. 119 of 1990).
The reason for the revocation notices is due to that the said assignees failed to –
- finalize the revision, consultation and publication of their inspection fees as per court judgments which were handed down by the North Gauteng High Court on 22 February 2021 and 14 May 2021 respectively; and
- exercise their powers and perform their duties in order to apply sections 3(1)(a) and (b), 3A(1), 4A(1)(a), 7 and 8 of the Act in relation to the regulated products for which they were designated.
Lastly, stakeholders shall take note that inspection of the affected regulated products will be carried out by inspectors of the Directorate: Inspection Services within the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development and will persists until advised otherwise.
