Mariesa Vorster, The Shoprite Group of Companies

Passionate about business and product development, Mariesa Vorster is responsible for developing and growing the 295 Private Label Brands for The Shoprite Group of Companies. 

After graduating with a BSc degree in Food Science at the University of Stellenbosch, Mariesa started her career as a product developer at a raw material supplier. She then moved to quality management and back to technical development for the largest retailer in Africa.  

Understanding and considering trends and consumer behavior are of utmost importance for success in this challenging and dynamic industry. Even though Mariesa is responsible for an extensive range of products, dairy has been her passion for years.
