The South African Meat Industry Company (SAMIC) has been designated as assignee in terms of section 2(3) of the Agricultural Product Standards Act (Act No. 119 of 1990), to apply the Regulations regarding the Classification and Marking of Meat intended for Sale in the Republic of South Africa (No. R. 55 of 30 January 2015) at all red meat abattoirs who participate in the voluntary classification and marking of meat system.
