Notice 490 of 2012
Guidelines relating to Product Safety Recalls as at 29 May 2012.
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has the responsibility to protect consumers from hazards to their well-being and safety by ensuring that goods that may be unsafe or pose a potential risk from their continued use or exposure to them, are recalled.
The Consumer Protection Act (No 68 of 2008) addresses consumer issues, but the NCC has published these Product Safety Recall Guidelines which should be used in addition to the Act.
These guidelines cover what a supplier is required to do when conducting a product safety recall.
