Testo Charity Challenge Raises R50,000

Testo Headquarters is celebrating its 60th birthday this year and has been running the global `Testo Charity Challenge´ since March. The aim was, together with Testo South Africa colleagues, customers, suppliers, friends and family members, to reach at least 5 000 km by running or cycling.

By our cut-off date in September we had absolutely smashed that target (reaching almost 27 000 km) and were happy to hand over the pledged donation of R 50 000 to the Thula Thula Hout Bay Foundation.

About the Thula Thula Hout Bay Foundation

A number of times each year, fires across Hout Bay leave many residents with little more than the clothes on their backs. Thula Thula Hout Bay was started by a group of residents, who realised that there is a need to be more prepared to offer support when this inevitable tragedy strikes.

Funds are used to actively prepare for disaster relief and ensure that such tragedies are avoided in future. This year Thula Thula has expanded the operation to Proactive Community Education, with the introduction of trained fire educators who have embarked on a door to door education campaign, as well as the distribution of Solar lights, which will reduce the use of candles, paraffin and thereby drastically reduce the fire risk in the area.  The funds raised by Testo South Africa will be used to expand the reach and duration of this project.
