Food Focus acquires Food & Beverage Reporter Magazine

4 December 2019

Food Focus has recently acquired the food industry publication, Food & Beverage Reporter, adding the print media platform to its range of food media offerings and related services.

Food Focus was founded in 2016 as the brainchild of Linda Jackson, Adele Krogh and Bridget Day, focused on providing content, guidance and networking around food compliance issues. During the last three years, the organisation has added events planning and hosting as well as food safety culture assessments and interventions to its portfolio. With the addition of Food and Beverage Reporter, the organisation has combined their offerings under one banner, Food Risk Forum.

“The decision to acquire Food and Beverage Reporter was a strategic one,” says Director Linda Jackson. “We wanted to be able to offer print media options to the stakeholders in the industry who still prefer print marketing. Despite the rise in digital marketing solutions, print still has a dedicated place on the playing field, and we are delighted that we will be able to offer our clients the exclusivity of print vs the agility/flexibility of digital offerings.”

Food & Beverage Reporter has been published and edited by Bruce Cohen since 2016, but Cohen sold the brand so that he could focus his energies on his expanding organic food business.
“Searching for a trusted and credible publisher to take over the reins of F&BR has not been easy, but I’m pleased to advise that the magazine is passing into the very capable hands of the team at Food Focus. The magazine has had a long a fruitful relationship with Food Focus, which has been providing quality editorial to the magazine on food safety/compliance matters.” says Cohen.

Food Focus has a three-year strategy to develop a range of digital offerings alongside the print version of the publication, which will give the brand access to new markets. The new year will see some changes made to the publication, to ensure that the title offers a vibrant and relevant industry voice. Wendy Breakey, who has been with the title for many years, will remain onboard and will continue building on her existing relationships with advertisers and fostering new relationships as the magazine enters its 25th year of business.
